ABSTRACT

Consumers during this spread of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to believe in the concept of "˜prevention is better than cure'. However, the preventive measure adopted varies from the traditional method where the latter resort to consuming healthy food in its original form and the earlier consumes so called healthy supplementary products that has intervention of new technology. Consumers lose clarity in understanding the method, composition, and components of health supplement items as the supplements sector expands with new inventions and advances in technology. This is made worse by deceiving marketing strategies adopted by the producer. The bold act of the producer in claiming that their product may cure serious diseases is not only unethical, but it is also a crime. Government of different jurisdictions adopts various monitoring measure to protect the rights of the consumer. In addressing this issue, this study aims at analysing the legal framework in selected jurisdictions that includes Singapore, Australia and United States of America with a view of identifying the best practices and proposing an effective legal framework. The study uses qualitative methods incorporating critical analysis on the legal framework of the selected jurisdiction. The area that is analysed consist of the accepted definition (to date this has become the main issue in regulating supplementary products), the registration process, the governing authority, and the post-registration monitoring. The analysis of data gathered through qualitative methods entails content analysis, which is supplemented by semi-structured interviews with respondents who were purposefully chosen. The findings to the study disclose the strength and weaknesses of the Malaysian legal framework that can be remedied by learning from the selected jurisdiction method. The output of this study may assist the government, policymaker, industry players and the consumer in reforming the protection of consumers to the supplementary products.

ABSTRACT

The aim of this study is to evaluate the perceptions of prospective tourists through parameters by which the tourism and hospitality service sector can withstand the widespread implications to the sector as a result of the current pandemic. In turn this will lead to weighing up the means for recovery. The identified parameters are then classified, categorized and linked up with supply chain drivers to obtain a holistic picture that can feed into strategic planning from which the tourism and hospitality service sector could utilize to establish a resilient supply chain. This data can provide deep insight for both theorists and practitioners to utilize. It was found that reforming six supply chain drivers, whilst at the same time developing core competencies, is the central essence of a resilient supply chain within the tourism and hospitality business sector (who are at present working hard to counterbalance the many threats and consequent risks posed due to the pandemic).

ABSTRACT

Transitioning to lower carbon energy and environment sustainability requires a reduction in greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) that contribute to global warming. One of the most actively studied rare earth metal catalysts is cerium oxide (CeO2) which produces remarkable improvements in catalysts in dry reforming methane. This paper reviews the management of CO2 emissions and the recent advent and trends in bimetallic catalyst development utilizing CeO2 in dry reforming methane (DRM) and steam reforming methane (SRM) from 2015 to 2021 as a way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This paper focus on the identification of key trends in catalyst preparation using CeO2 and the effectiveness of the catalysts formulated.

ABSTRACT

The national electricity market (NEM) of Australia is reforming via the rapid uptake of variable renewable energy (VRE) integration concurrent with the retirement of conventional synchronous generation. System strength has emerged as a prominent challenge and constraint to power system stability and ongoing grid connection of VRE such as solar and wind. In order to facilitate decarbonization pathways, Australia is the first country to evolve system strength and inertia frameworks and assessment methods to accommodate energy transition barriers, and other parts of the world are now beginning to follow the same approach. With the evolvement of the system strength framework as a new trending strategy to break the transition barriers raised by renewable energy project development and grid connection studies, this paper provides a high-level overview of system strength, covering such fundamental principles as its definition, attributes, and manifestations, as well as industry commentary, cutting-edge technologies and works currently underway for the delivery of a secure and reliable electricity system with the rapid integration of inverter-based resources (IBRs) in the NEM grid. The intent of this study is to provide a comprehensive reference on the engineering practices of the system strength challenge along with complementary technical, regulatory, and industry perspectives.
